Indian Food In Cocoa Beach!

A Local Guide To Indian Restaurants in The Cocoa Beach Area

Indian Cuisine is now one of my favorites! It has held a place in my heart as far back as I can remember. Growing up in New York I remember my family taking me to Indian restaurants and Persian friend’s houses. Moving to Brevard county I quickly discovered that Indian food as well as what seemed to be any food from the middle east was near non-existent.

Out of the 550+ locally-owned restaurants in Brevard County (also known as Florida’s Space Coast), there are only five that I know of! So you could easily see why the lack of knowledge about Indian cuisine for those living in the area is significant.

My friend David from Davids been here is a world-famous travel vlogger and has been to India numerous times. He has filmed hundreds of videos featuring this cuisine. When I had the chance to Invite him to the Cocoa Beach area I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to learn about the cuisine from the best!

David came and we filmed an epic video

Eating Indian Food For 24hrs In Cocoa Beach!

Prior to David coming to Cocoa Beach, I hit the ground running not only learning about Indian food but getting to know the owners and chefs at these restaurants. I also filmed several videos myself as well as took 100’s of tasty photos.

The first video I filmed was at Flavors of India and I was blown away! It had been years since I had Indian cuisine but soon as I walked through the doors the aromas hit, and all of my memories of eating this food came back 1000 times over

In the first video, I had Malai Koftka and the Thali platter along with some Indian Beers.

On my next scouting trip I checked out Taj Modern Indian Cuisine and just took a quick video and got to meet the owner. Then  I went back to film the making of the Tandoor chicken wings. This is fitting because I am a judge at the Space Coast wing battle for 2021.

I then returned to Flavors of Indian to film an epic behind-the-scenes video. The incredible detail that goes into this chef-owned restaurant dishes is outstanding! I tried several dishes and they even made garam masala seasoning from scratch!!!

After filming these videos David finally was able to make it up here and we filmed his viral video that now has over 150 thousand views!

David and I started our Indian food adventure at Taj: Modern Indian Cuisine in Viera Florida. This is one of my favorite local restaurants to visit.  Our four dishes included samosa chaat topped with tamarind chutney and mint-cilantro chutney; butter chicken enchiladas; tandoori chicken wings; hand-cut masala fries; and chai.

After eating at Taj we were full, so we took a four-hour break. First, we took some time to explore Cocoa Village, and then we arrived at Punjab Cuisine of India in Cocoa Beach for some Punjabi food!

We went into the kitchen where they made some chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, naan, samosas, chili paneer, and more. Everything smelled incredible as David filmed this epic video!

We had some pilaf, veg samosas, pickled chutney, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic naan, and mango lassi. The samosas were a little spicy and the pickled chutney was nice as well.

The garlic naan contained some tasty herbs. The saag paneer was different and I was not 100% sure that I was a fan. The chicken tikka masala was great with the naan. I was so full though! I mean you can imagine between “Breakfast at Taj ” Stopping in Cocoa Village and then this feast!

We ended our evening there and then met back up the next morning for another “breakfast” at Flavors of India.

Flavors of Indian of India is my favorite Indian Restaurant in the area (so far) The owner is also a Chef with over 15 years of experience even working at a 5-star hotel in Dubai. We had fish vindaloo, tandoori drumsticks, Kashmiri naan, butter naan, lamb madras, and dessert!  The Kashmiri naan was sweet and nutty. The fish was incredible, but we had to look out for bones as you expect with any whole fish. We finished with chai and a smoky chocolate mousse!

This was all around an amazing experience! The food was mind-blowing good! I may still not be an expert on Indian food, but after this, I am one huge step closer to it.
