Ossorio Bakery & Cafe is one of my all-time favorite places to grab a bite to eat in Brevard County. They offer fresh-baked pastries, wood-fired oven-roasted flatbread pizzas, and sandwiches. They are a from-scratch kitchen, they make their ice cream in-house and roast their own coffee beans.
They have been in business for over 18 years and have always been a staple in Cocoa Village. Ossorio Bakery And Cafe are also one of the most popular food tour stops with our guests. Typically they are our first stop and they start our guests off with Sarah’s Salad.
The Saras salad is a delicious chicken curry salad, with fresh chopped veggies and raisins. On Our food tours, it comes on top of a bed of spring mix with half of a croissant drizzled in their house-made balsamic vinaigrette. The bakers get in to hand roll croissants at 5 in the morning, and they pair perfectly with the sweet and tangy balsamic. The flaky crust combined with the tender soft pillowy dough on the inside is a treat all by itself.
Until recently for the past 18 years, Ossorio has been the only place in Cocoa Village for breakfast. They open at 8 AM most days and serve their amazing breakfast dishes until about 11 AM. For breakfast, they have some delicious omelets and croissant sandwiches. Of course, their fresh roasted coffee is available at all hours of the day.
For lunch items in addition to amazing salads, they have tasty flatbread sandwiches and pizzas. One of the sandwiches I love is the Conner’s Catch that has house salt-cured salmon (lox) with a goat and cream cheese blend, mozzarella, and asparagus, stuffed with baby spring greens, finished with red onions and lemon vinaigrette.
This is an amazing dish, but not for everyone as we aren’t all fans of lox. Another great one is the buddy’s beef. It’s really cool watching them make these sandwiches and flatbread. They are made on a thin sheet of raw flatbread dough, once it’s topped with all the goodies it rises in the wood-fired oven.
In addition to the food, one of the award-winning factors of Ossorio is the staff. They have some of the most consistently friendly staff I have ever met. They always greet you with a smile and get to know their regulars on a first-name basis. The orders usually arrive within minutes and you can tell that the owners really care about how their guests are treated.
If you find yourself in the Cocoa Beach area and are looking for a great relaxing atmosphere for breakfast or lunch check out Ossorios Bakery and Cafe. Also, don’t forget you can always join us on one of our Walking Food Tours. We will stop at this restaurant plus several others sampling tasty bites and drinks.
